My cold took a hard left turn on me so I’ll be closed tonight and Saturday. There are several torchers on Sunday and room for more if you’d like to join us!
Thanks!

As a reminder, because of my Saturday Market work I need to have at least two people signed up for Saturdays to be able to bring in “Shop Girl Extraordinaire… Carol Jones.” So, if you reserve for a Saturday be sure to use the “Invite Participants” feature to wrestle up a buddy. I try to make final plans with Carol by the Wednesday before so signining up as someone’s buddy on a Saturday sooner is best.
Can you believe it’s July 17th???!!! Neither can I!!! %-}
In an attempt to get a few of the summer projects off the ToDo list I am going to temporarily close Thursdays to Open Torching. I am going to block Thursdays on the reservation system until the end of August and then reevaluate at that time to see if I could use some more extra days for other projects…. Thursdays have been pretty slow this summer so I don’t think I’ll be disappointing many [sorry Erika
] but hope to make up for it by having things like the new cold working station finished.
I am still open Fridays 5pm to 9pm, Saturdays 1pm to 6pm (if I can get Shop Girl and have at least 2 Torchers signed up), and Sundays 1pm to 6pm. And I’m happy to open on any closed day if I can to sell supplies.
Thank You!
Deb
Elise sent this email the other day and I wanted to pass on the information:
“Paw Prince has a new owner as of August 1. My friend Melissa and her husband sold the business to a wonderful woman — Jann Palach. I met Jann when she took the needle felted dog class KC and I taught.
Anyway, Jann wants to feature dog and cat themed artwork in the store year-round. She wants to promote Alaskan artists and really do the thing right. And, she is going to be very generous with the consignment: 70% to the artist, 30% to the store!
I told her I would spread the word among my artist friends, as she is very interested in developing this side of the store. You can e:mail her if you are interested at: jbpalach@gci.net
I think this is a wonderful opportunity for all of us! She eventually wants to move to a bigger space and have real gallery space for the artwork.
Please feel free to forward this e:mail to your artist buddies!”
After taking the action of filing a dispute with my credit card company HotAssTools shipped my foot pedal. It has arrived, I’ve installed it, it works well and I’ve dropped the dispute. But I’ve not yet been given a reason for the problems they’ve been having and I’ve not yet heard that a couple other people who hadn’t received their foot pedal have so I continue to caution you to buy from them until I’ve heard that they have resolved their problems… which I hope they have because before this I’d heard great things about their company.
In the meantime, I’ve recently heard that GTT recommends Griffin Glass Tools at www.griffinglass.com and the foot pedal at this link is very similar to the one I have now… http://www.griffinglass.com/turbopedal.html
Yes, it is a bit more expensive but it is at least a referred company selling a similar product.
I will post about this again as I receive new information…
I have a few people “pencilled” in for Andrea Guarino’s class and at this moment only one official seat available. Those of you who I said I’d pencil you in can feel secure that your seat is safe for a bit longer but anyone who really wanted to get into this class should register online and pay the deposit to make sure the last seat is not taken up.
I’ve heard wonderful things about Andrea’s class and Andrea herself. I hope you can join us!
Hot Ass Tools. Something is going on with the guy and he’s not delivering his product to customers and not responding to emails, phone calls, or even to Trey. I know I’ve been telling you all about this person for foot pedals but something has gone wrong. If I find out about an alternate and reliable foot pedal manufacturer I’ll let you know.
As most of you know I will be working the Downtown Market most Saturdays this summer. Carol, aka Shop Girl, will be manning the studio on “some” of these Saturdays. There is one important requirement for me to be able to have Carol step in and that is I need at least Two people signed up for torching for that Saturday. If I don’t get two people the studio will have to stay closed.
You can help by reserving online early so that we know where we stand. I don’t want to leave Carol hanging on whether she’ll work the studio that day or not. And I ask for your understanding if I am unable to open on a Saturday you’ve signed up for.
I will of course still be open Thursdays and Fridays 5pm to 9pm and Sundays 1pm to 6pm.
Thanks!
Deb
I have a small stock of several sizes of large hole mandrels available at the studio for $10.00 each. A great price!! Hurry as there are only a few of each size available.

After the loss of Elise’s beloved cat Henry she learned to make glass memorial beads and is now offering them as a service to others. They’re lovely beads… made to resemble the heavens. What a wonderful Tribute to Henry this work of love is!
